kawasaki prarie 360 or wolverine
#2
Koller,
Depends on what you want to do with it. The Wolverine is more sporty than the Prarie 360 and should handle trail riding and jumps better. The Prarie has selectable 4x4 (Wolverine full time) and has a diff lock handle. The Wolverine has a semi-auto clutch (no clutch lever but you have to shift with your foot) and the Prarie is automatic. Pretty much the same price. If you are looking for a workhorse - go with the Prarie (I would also look at the Kodiak 400 or 450 as well). If you are looking for a machine that has more riding performance (proably much faster), go with the Wolverine. I have never been on a Prarie 360 and I am getting my info from the Kawi spec page. They didn't have a weight either so I am guessing that it is significantly heavier than the Wolverine.

..hey YF..I had relatives in westminister a while back..stayed there many a christmas's and got ovetr to allens park, estes park......Go with the suzuki eigher is you can squeeze some more money together.....my wife had an ' 03 P 360 and it turned out to be a BIG,BIG, disapointment & a P.O.S...lots of vibration, rattles, NOISY,and very much UNDERPOWERED with the automatic trans..We used it out in the Black Hills of south dakota alot. I finally traded it in just before christmas for a vinson 500 5spd..and just love it...

TurboPaws,
Yup, great part of the world. Did you do any riding while you were out here? If I were to buy a large 4x4 I would probably go with the Vinson as well - looks like a great value.

If the Prairie 360 is anything like the 300 I think you should go with the Wolverine. The 300 I rode topped out at about 36mph, I could flat smoke it on my Wolverine. But I've never ridden the 360 so take this for what its worth,

I owned a 360 and hated it. I haven't ridden a Wolverine, though. My 360 had some problems, and was very underpowered. Of course it had the famous belt probs that the Prairies have been having, but I know there are ways to lengthen the life of the belt on the p650 since we've had the shims taken out and a black spring put in....maybe you can do some things to the 360, too? I wouldn't recommend it at all. It was 600 pounds, and that is too much for the displacement! I found it to be a little top-heavy, wasn't fun on off-camber stuff, I sometimes ended up wearing the quad on some part of my body. I'm not one to wreck, that machine and I just didn't get along. I traded it for the p650 and it's an awesome machine, nothing against Kaw, just didn't like that machine in particular.
I ride the Rancher right now, and it is full-time fourwheel drive like the Wolverine. If you don't ride a lot it is hard on the arms. But if you get used to it and keep up riding, it is not a problem at all.
I would look at more of the fourwheelers in it's displacement class than the p360.
