Ahh, the weekend. I am supposed to be in SilverLake Michigan right now, but my pipe from CT was shipped incorrectly and will not be here until sometime saturday morning. I will probably not get into the dunes until noon. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the voucher situation was. I would like to know also if there are requirements for lights on the dunes. Anyone else headed there for the weekend??

 

Shoulda bought a Graydon. Im coming up next weekend. Dont know about the voucher sitution. No lights required as far as I know. Just a flag a spark arrestor and try to be under 94 decibles around popo.

 

I don't know if this will help, but the last time we were there they started giving out vouchers for Saturday on Friday night at 9pm. They said it was to give the people that come in from further away a chance to get vouchers. Then on Saturday at 9pm they do the same. The dunes are open until 10pm and they didn't check our lights but they were checking every 7th quad for noise level.

 

Are there 2 different kinds of vouchers, one for the parking lot and one for access? I was told that if you dont use the voucher by 9am the next morning, then it expires, is this true? My quad probably wont pass the noise requirement, maybe will all 16 disks in it might. Thinking about taking the stock muffler and just using it as a slip on if I need to, and if it fits.

 

Wow, Till 10 pm? When did they start that? Last year they made us quit at 6:30pm (fathers day weekend). Looks like I'll have to put my lights back on. You and Greg going up next weekend?

 

If you get checked just take disks out till it passes. Less disks=quieter, more disks= louder.

 

They give out a voucher that is from 7 am to 9am. Then they give out one from 9 am to 11 am. We will be there from the 30th to the 3rd. Watch the check in and see how they are checking people. I got checked for my decibel level. And maxed out but they let me in. I took off my helmet to make sure they knew I was a girl and I acted like I had no idea what I was doing. The guy checking me looked at me and rolled his eyes back in head because when he told me to gas it I had it in drive and roosted him. I apologized and he looked over at GregV and asked him to help me.

 

They had a sign posted this year that said 9 am to 10 pm. We got there on a Saturday night and rode until dark and then went and got in line for the next day's voucher. It was the first weekend in June and it rained so eveyone left on Sunday. So we had Sunday all day with about 30 vehicles in the parking area. It was great.

 

Geez, hope this is a good place to ride cause that sure does sound like a pain in the azz to just go play.
