What do you guys think...will Yamaha increase the stroke next year to match the dirtbike motor?

 

the bore is the same. so i dont think so. what you are thinking of would be called the stroke. sigh...

 

Well, If i read their spec page correctly, the bore is the same as the dirtbike now, they just changed the stroke of the quad to get it under 440cc limit (which was recently raised to 450cc thanks to Honda's influence). Yes, I think they will probrably change the stroke next year b/c the Honda 450 is coming out in September and will be a 450 or very close to it. I dont think it will be a 439 like the yamaha right now.

450cc's is legal now for pro racing, right?

 

not yet -pretty smart of them to anticipate that by making its easy to take advantage of it if & when it happens though eh?

 

Yep, I'd like to get one after they are out for a couple of years...or until my Banshee is paid for..whatever comes first!

 

I heard it had just been changed to 450.
