wheelying a blaster
i have had my blaster for 2 years and i would consider myself an above average rider or even a little better, however, i have a hard time riding wheelies on it. when i hop on my friends 400ex i can ride them all day. Anymore tips? this really makes me want to go out and practice bad... heres another question, when u guys are riding wheelies do u ever use the rear brake to control it at all?

like any 2-stroke, the Blaster is peppy. It is hard to control the wheelies and ride them out.
I've tried wheelies on a Banshee before and it's easier, only because you have a lot more power to play with.
with the blaster, if you pause with the throttle too long, and the front end comes down too far, the blaster's engine won't produce enough power to bring it back up.
Besides just practicing, the only thing I would suggest is trying to hit the wheelie bar and trying to ride it out in almost a vertical position.

i start in second go really slow but keep the rpm's a little below halfway, look for a small bump or dip blurp the gas a couple times punch it pull up and lean back as far as i can then i stay on the gas until almost verticle then blurp it again. i havent used the brake to control my wheelies yet but thats me. also it is easier to learn if you start doing them on a slight uphill incline. and one thing i dont recomend is learning with 1 or 2 feet on the grab bar because if you do it will be 2 times scarier when you go to do it sitting down. it may be easier but in the long run it will be easier and less scary if you never try that way

i also just noticed your gearing if you want to wheelie that is not the gearing you want to have you want stock gearing or smaller in the front or bigger in the back you are geared for speed and that is the last gear ratio you want to have when wheeling

My blaster seems to wheelie VERY easily, even in third gear, I can hold one for quite a ways also once I get the balance point I just keep blipping the throttle, if you dont have it on the balance point youll rev out way too soon, there-for not being able to hold it very far.
Hope I helped a little, about 70% of my riding time I am doing whelies so it has gotten pretty easy for me, my machine helps too, compared to my friends moddified blaster I just blow him away, and Im stock.
The reason Im selling it is to get a dirt bike, I still like quads but would like to try 2 wheels for a while, after that I will buy a yfz (looking forward to that )

what year is your blaster ? if it is halfway newer like 2003 then your can lean all the way back to the piont of almost falling off the seat and when your feel it start to go to far backwards, just give it a VERY LITTLE bit of brakingness. i started out wheelying with my knee on the seat and foot on the shifter sometimes when you shift gun the gas and it shold stay right up there.
