I would love it if my wife would ride me all the time. She loves going to the dunes and trails with me, she loves the outdoors, but she just can't get over the fear of riding a quad alone. I guess its just going to take time. The thing she has the most trouble with is 1st gear, she keeps popping up on the raptor and I think she's scared she's gonna flip over.....

If I were you, I would get her the new Z250 to start out on, no clutch and it rides smooth and has alot of power. I love this bike for my daughter and when i get a chance I ride it as well.

I've had the pleasure of riding a new z250 and Sunday I raced a 250ex in a harescramble. Both are good beginner bikes. It's not like the big power horses that you have to worry about pinning it and having the front end pop up. I rode the V-Force in a competition and thought it was just a little too big. It rides great, but I don't know about a beginner machine. I've seen quite a few finish drag races without their rider at the finish line. They were laying on their backs at the starting line. Also, a friend of mine has a Polaris 250 Trailblazer and she REALLY likes it. It's automatic, so there's even less to think about when riding. Good luck. Hope she finds out how much fun it really is to ride her own machine and do what she wants on it!

Get her a Raptor, or, one of the new 450's. My wife loves my Raptor. She was a little afraid of it at first, and I made the mistake of letting her try it out in the street. She was more gentle on the clutch, and kept killing it, instead of popping it up. We got out in the dirt, and once she got used to the clutch, I couldn't keep her off of the thing. All my friends are amazed at how she rips around on the thing. I wouldn't put the money into one of the small quads, because if she truly loves to ride, I bet she'll outgrow it really soon, and won't have any chance of keeping up with you and your friends. If it was me buying one for the wife, I'd get the new 450, and give her the Raptor. BTW - my raps for sale....$5500 obo. PM me if you're interested.
