I was racing my friend the other day playing around and it was close. He has a blaster and i have a 2000 Kodiak. he only beat me by a couple of feet. What i want to know is what are some inexpensive ways to increase the top end on the Kodiak. Another thing is im getting terriable gas milage. I fill it up on Sunday and during the week only riding it maybe an hour a day by Saturday im on empty. Thanks for all your help

 

Larger tires will increase yor top end speed and being a 400cc it should not have much trouble turning them when in the mud.
An hour a day fo 5 days is a 5 hour ride which is not bad for a tank of gas.

 

A new muffler like the supertrap ids2 would help and so would a jetkit.

 

If your tires are setup soft it will slow you down.
I went from a 132.0 to a 140.0 main jet and the plug is still white. I am waiting for K&N to make a filter befor I go up more.
If you know you are gonna race him again put the tires to 6 psi.
