I'm looking at getting a used sport quad soon and I'm just wondering what would be the best for me. I'm about 5'10" 170lbs and I ride mainly logging road with a few steep trails. I've been looking at the warrior but I still don't know. Is a modded blaster with a swing arm extension going to be too small for me? I've got right around 2 grand to spend on one if that helps. Give me some feedback on what my choices are here.

I would say for 2 G's the Warrior or a 400/500 Scambler would be the best for that type of riding.

Bigger.

I would go with the Warrior also.

The blaster would be too small for you. Doubt you could get a 400ex in any shape for that coin. Ive owned a warrior and it works well in the type of terrain you described within that budget. You may need another $500 to get one. Good luck on your search.

Hey thanks everyone, the warrior was my seconed choice. The looks and the power of the 400EX appealed to me but I can't get over that sticker price for a used quad. Looks like I need to do some shopping and see if I can't sell off my sled .

I say Warrior too. You can find a GREAT deal on them every once in awhile. I sold a 99 in 2001 for $300, no its not a typo. I never road it any more, my wife wouldn't, and it needed a ring job. I started the rebuild but never finished. The topend was disassembled, but that was the only problem with it. So look hard.

My riding buddy has a warrior and it's great for logging roads and mountain trails. I really enjoy riding it from time to time, I also agree, a blaster is too small. I think the warrior is a good all around bike, ride one then make your decision.

Derinetly a warrior.. how long have they been out now? FOREVER. Must be doing something right!

If I'm not mistaken, the 400ex doesn't have a reverse gear, right?
