I want to get some solid input on the YFZ. If possible outline any potential problems and state opinion on how this quad is the next generation ATV. In other words why should I buy this bike if I have $7,000.00 to spend? Thanks for your help.

The only problem I had and that was the first day was that it feels hot but that's gone now I love it.

well i guess you cant really rely on this as solid feedback, but i do have a 450 engine pulled from a "YZF" bike and all i can say is it has power!. i can't beat my cousin and his raptor(stock) and a DS(also stock). Im sure they would take me in top end. but they can never catch up tp me to find out cuz i get such a go start. I can't tell you anything about the actually machine as for ergos, handiling and suspension, and i know that the engine in my quad and the "YFZ" are not the exact same, but if it has around the same put out as my wheeler, MAN IT HAULLS A$$!!! Hope this helped a bit.

I adjusted my front and rear shocks to the softest settings for both rebound and compression and it wasn't all that bad during the put put break-in.. The engine is an awesome package..screams like a 2 stroke and pulls hard.. you can easily pull the front wheels off the ground for water in both 2nd and 3rd when just put puting around even at low rpms

That's good news. I don't know if I'll ever make it to the track again but I might get a yfz one of these days and I'll need it for some trails. I'll run it at our homemade track all the time although I probably wouldn't have any competition any more with the guys that ride here now.

I also went down a fresh cut trail through the dense woods in first gear for a mile or two.. with a Rappy, DS and Rincon. The gearing is a bit tall in first however with some skill you won't have a problem if you keep an eye down the trail a bit and negotiate obstacles correctly. Just set the shocks as soft as the go for rebound/compression front and back and you'll do fine. You could allways gear it down by dripping a tooth or two on the front. I plan on riding the San Juans and will drop a couple teeth down in the front after rejetting for 10,000 ft. to cope with all the slow speed switchbacks. I also ran some pretty rough boulder fields in 2nd and 3rd and was very impressed. The Rincon ended upside down, sitting on the handlebars/seat through it and the DS went home with a smashed front rim and a flat tire. The Rappy rider didn't have a problem. That was my experience with the new YFZ..
