I dont see how it would be considered cheating... I dont like the stuff , but it is just a quick and easy way to get more efficiect combustion.

 

how do u conclude that a turbo is a bigger cheat than NOS (which is for engines that cant make HP) *coug4strocoughkes*

 

I say, "Run what you brung!". There are too many variables in engine, weight, setup, etc. If nitrous makes my 4100lb truck slightly faster than your 3400lb car, so be it. You might have a roller cam vs. my flat. Is a roller cam cheating? How about my 350cc banshee against a 660 raptor. Is your displacement cheating? 2stroke vs 4? Stock vs. aftermarket suspension? Tires?

I would take good porting and setup over stock with nitrous.

 

i say its only cheating if the other person doesnt have it.

only if you tell them you won't use it then you do. everyone knows the bottle and if they line up next to you, they know the deal.

 

Anyway when it comes down to it in the ATV racing world...Nitrous wont win you the big prize, this to me tells alot on the other hand a turbo might...

 

Nos is the cheapest way to acheive big HP. But as for it being cheating you have to look at it like this. You can NOT just throw NOS on and run it and run big shots. You have to know what your doing and as for anything else out there, nothing can grenade a motor faster than a lean condition on NOS. It takes just one little peice of dirt to plug a jet and BAMMMM bye bye motor. Yo get a propper NOS setup you will be in excess to $1000. You can do alot of internal mods for $1000( On a rappy anyways). Nos is mainly just for pure dragging and if thats what you are into then like said earlier you run what you brung and if they dont have it......have fun in the loser bracket!!!
