I have a K&N on my Warrior and it works great? Ive got six one inch holes in the top of the airfilter box, and an outerwears prefilter over the K&N. I moved the clip down one notch on the carb needle and the main jet was increased by 1 1/2 this works great for me. I replaced my unifilter with this and I won't go back to a foam filter, What machine are using this on ?

blaster18,
The K&N is a gauze-type filter ahd this type filter simply won't filter dust well. Using an Outerwears over it will filter dust but some riders say that this combo restricts air flow, which is one of the reasons for using a K&N in the first place. There's nothing wrong with a K&N, it just not the best design for dusty conditions. A good foam with a good foam filter oil is the hot setup in the dust. In the dunes the K&N is great

Your airbox is restricting your engine not your filter. Get the cover for the filter and drill your airbox.

I have been useing K&N's since the early 80's. It started when I found dust in the intake stack of my carb. I then got a premium foam replacement. I Still got dust. I replaced the foam unit with a K&N and never got dust in again.
I keep hearing on this fourm, about K&N's letting dust in. It has been proven that K&N's filter finer than foam. Foam flows less than Paper.
I have K&N's on everything I own that they make one for. When I hear about dust getting through one, I think that something aint right.
Go to K&N's site and have a look. http://www.knfilters.com/

I live in ireland and i race a blaster my club doesnt allow you to drill or modify your air box something to keep costs down but i have the air box raised on 12 washers with longer screws to hold it in it lets alot more air in i tought i would have to go up a main jet size because i thought it would be too lean but when i did a plug check it was rich. i put the foam back in and it was fine again
