Well i have a 98 shee and i have A arms. My buddy has an 87 and he has J arms, we both have rather fast bikes so it really depends on the person and what u like better, if it was me i would get A arms just because i like the way they look and in my mind i think that they are better. But it all depends on the rider.

Think about it QUE...... If "J" arms were better then "A" arms everyone would be using them and Yamaha wouldn't have taken them off after only a few years....

In fact J-arms frames are the preferred choice of drag racers because it is lighter, so if you can find an older J-arm frame in good condition go for it.

Only if I could find a descent chassis for my next project. I was open for second opinion. Thanks for the advice.

From what Ive heard, J arm frames are preferred. I am not exactly sure why, but it seems as if you could fit a much larger pipe in the space thats left over from the J arm. But seeing bascially all pipes are made around an A arm frame, you wont have much of a problem.
