I gotta tell ya, from the pred's I have seen, those things have no bottem end what so ever. It's true, they are fast, but they take a while to get there. A raptor, from experience, will even beat a predator all the way to the top, and even then, when the pred is actually doing what it is "good at" , its still just equal with the raptor. So as far as having a more performance oriented machine, the yfz is going to be better in almost every aspect.
Your pred is prob a good handling machine, when compared to the raptors. NOT when compared to the yfz though!

And as far as being proven... how much more proof does the 450 engine from Yamaha need? People have been putting them into quad frames for years, and the YZ450F is an incredible bike. Why get a company's first attempt at a TRUE sport quad, when you can have YEARS of racing experience from Yamaha. We'll see in months to come just how well the YFZ performs... but personally, i think Yamaha learned valuble lessons from the 2001 raptors... we will see... we will see...
