Default dial-a-jet question

I was thinking about getting a Dial-A-Jet for my raptor. They claim that it gets better throttle response and an average of 2hp increase. I just installed my yoshi pipe yesterday and it reminded me of how much of a pain it is to change the jets in my carbs. Just wondering if anyone has the dial-a-jet and how well they like it... thanx

Default dial-a-jet question

I've never ran one on a 4stroke, but can't imagine it being much different...
I've ran one now for 3 years... and it works good... but you've still got to play with the jetting to get it close, before the DAJ will work...
It did seem to have better throttle response... and unless I make major elevation/temp changes, adjusts withing seconds...

Good luck

I followed the instructions and jetted down 3 "manufacturer's" jet sizes per Lonn at Thunder Products. He can give you some insight into where to start. All you have to do is make the carbs lean so the DAJ will work. It's real forgiving, not finicky. You need one DAJ per carb. The throttle response and fuel mileage increase is measurable.

What problems did the mud create for the Dial-A-Jet?

sucks it in to the carbs and generally caused a poor running situation

I have one on mine, and ride LOTS of water and mud, never a problem. Of course, I have the snorkle tube/filter inlet positioned in a high, safe palce

Are we discussing the same product? The dial_a_jet only draws in a small amount of air. For off-road, they recommend their high mounted remote air filter. Can't see mud getting in.

yes same thing but on a raptor no matter HOW high you mount them the intakes get wet and suck water straight into the carbs... its not a fun situation.. i also had a rich condition when i would get into it.. as all they do is suck gas from the float bowl... if your really interested in them ill save you some cash.. find the best price you can on it.. and ill sell mine to you for 30% less... i have all the box's books and whatnot for them... as a matter of fact im going to look through my reciept pile and ill even send it along with it if i can find it...
