Myfriend has an 02 raptor with a yoshi pipe, pro flow K&N filter, no lid.
He is having trouble with the idle.
He turns the idle screw in until it idles at the right rpm, then rides it. When he revs it up the gas sticks at about 1/4 throttle for a couple of seconds then idles down.
If he turns the idle screw out until it doesnt idle then he goes for a ride it runs ok.

We checked and the cable is not sticking. He doesnt have to be riding it, it can be parked and you rev it up it revs fine and when it comes down it idles high for a while then idles down.

any ideas what to check?

 

Check the choke cable where it goes into the carb to make sure it isn't all clogged up and rusty, etc. Sounds like the plunger might be sticking thus making it hard to really set the idle. You will have to remove the choke cable from the carb to look at it.

my idle is messed up 2, but in a diff way, it sometimes stalls and putters, i have no clue wuts causing it
