tire question
#1
I am planing on gettin a grizzly and wantd suggstions about tires
I wanted to know if the stock tires would be ok for wat I am goin to be doing...
I will be plowing in the winter, and rideing in the road (ice)
all the rest of the year I will be rideing in the woods, up to about 9 inchs of mud, through about 12-16 inchs of water
I will also want to race my friends on packed dirt, or street and of course beating there rincon's
if there isn't 1 set of tires that will do all of that well, I wouldn't mind switching the tires if it isn't to much trouble (how much is involved with switchin the tires?)
so thanks in advanced for the help

Its a tradeoff. You will lose some acceleration with large heavy tires, but they will get you through all the stuff you mentioned first a lot better. With something like ATR's or All Tracs, you will do better racing your friends, but they aren't as good of a mud tire. Try to find something in the middle. Something still in a 25" tire with a light weight and an aggressive tread pattern.
I'm thinking the same thing, but I still run stockers. Of course I also have a set of true mud tires for the other stuff too. I want to replace the stockers eventually, but I don't want to lose out much of my acceleration for when I want to run it fast. The stock tires are extremely lightweight.
As far as 9" of mud, your stock tires will get you through that.

Your stock tire will pretty well get you though everything you mention but lets face it OEM tire (for the most part) are crap. The Dunlop's are only 2 ply which will likely get punctured even if you are carefully or at least mine did. You will likely notice that the atv was smoother with the stock tire because the more ply's you have the harder the tire is. Personally I would recommend ITP Mudlites because I find them to be a really good universal tire. Also I would go with stock tire size however, that way there there should be next to no power loss.
Hope this helps
