Are you going by the gas gauge because if you are don't because they are extremly inaccurate on the Yamaha's. I reset my odometer everytime I fill up this is really the only way I know how far I can go on A tank. When I first purchased my '98 Grizzly I noticed how lousy the gas gauge was, I would drive for about 50 or 60 km's and the gas gauge would be close to or on empty, but when I would gas up it would only take two gallons of gas or so.So what I did I put A spare gas can on the bike and ran it dry reserve and all.Now I know pretty well how far I can go on A tank, about 145km's bone dry.My '00 Grizzly is the same, and the wife's '00 Kodiak does about the same but with A gallon less of gas.

I did not go by the gas gauge, I actually used a little bit over 4 gallons to fill the tank with only 42 miles in the odometer. I always reset the odo and use it as reference instead of the gauge. I took the bike to So. Carolina and I was doing mostly slow riding in the woods. I will wait and see after the dealer services at 100 miles to see the gas mileage
