What type of air filter setup is everone running?

I currently have the basic k&n setup (the 6" long tapered, two into one filter) with no airbox lid and holes throughout the airbox.

HOWEVER my father and uncle just bought "Raptor Adaptors"(very sweet, it has a trick aluminum bracket and eliminates the airbox completely, has two 3-1/2 x 6" long k&ns, flows more air than my setup total area at least in square in.)

We all have the FCR Carbs, how much filter is too much filter?

The way I see it is "The more flow the faster you will Go"

Anything will be appreciated.

The reason I'm asking is I had a pumped xr600 with stock carbs and a mustang 5.0 liter k&n filter. 8" long and 5" diameter. We could never get the jetting right, needed bigger carbs.

I make an adapter like the one you are talking about and that's what I run. More filter area More better.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

I run them on my Craycraft,ANd it matches....

 

The same size you mentioned but there is a 3 1/2 X 5" that will work also.

 

where can u get the brackets and filters to eliminate the air box for stock carbs?
