I would personally go with either Craycraft or Robertson. The only reason I would not go with Trinity is because they seem to mainstream, not that I have anything against them personally. And the only reason I would not go with 4 Wheel Thunder is because they said a 101mm bore was a 686 and that a 102mm was a 707?!?! Naahhh...

Craycraft - cheaper than most, faster turnaround than most, gobs of power, and the best customer service I've ever experienced.

money isnt really a problem. I want reliability and power. I know that those two dont always go hand in hand. I drag and mx race in the summer, flattrack ice race in the winter, and trail ride all year round. I dont want to compromise the versatility of my bike too much.

I appreciate all of the input. I called some people already, and will be calling more shops soon. The more info i get the better descision i can make. Thanks again.

Any thoughts on 686 compression? Or webcam vs hotcam?

On the compression topic, I would go with the 10.75:1 (11:1) for what you are wanting. It will be easier on your engine and starter and you can probably run pump gas. Then you could always add a little shot of N20 if you want more power for drag racing. On the cam question - I have heard that the Web cams are a little better quality than the Hotcams, but I am personally getting a Hotcam Stage 1 because I don't have the money right now for new springs or to get my rockers hard-welded. These are just my thought and opinions. I am sure there are lots of people out there with many different setups that will not agree.

When you get your work done we will have to meet up and race. I would like to see how that thing will perform!

there is another engine builder, Mickey Dunlap (4-stroke Tech) He makes the most reliable trail motors and they are super fast he will make your raptor into mid range monster. My Raptor is light bored only .02 over and it beats 686 I have only raced couple of it and I was really impress with my new motor.

Happy Riding,
Dusty
