has any one out there put new bars on there yfz450...because i need some new bars now that i rolled my new clean 450 and almost killed myself..had to be taken off the hill because i blacked out after the crash..but the 450 held up very good for what i did to it...only bent bars...thats what i get for trying to take a dirt hill like it was sand....

 

if you don't care, explain what happened in the wreck...

i was riding at a state park here in CA...went up a hill that was very very steep... the dirt was very loose, not packed donw with lots of small rocks..i mad it half way up and stalled it..when i got it going again i had to rev it high and well take off...it went to my right and there was a very bad rut.. i front end went up and i tryed for my life to save it..but went *** backwards...rulled on my me a few times ..and lets just say i got hurt...my friends where at the bottom of the hill thank god...so it bent the bars up good..but the rest help up...the yfz450 is a tough machine..

 

I find some of the wrecks interesting, but I never want anyone to get hurt, or killed. I just find the situations interesting so I don't allow myself to do it. No one is perfect, and everyone wrecks, it's just a matter of time. I have wrecked...but not on the Raptor yet.

yeah that crash put me back into check..i will save the big hills to sand hills ..no more big dirt hills they hurt to much...but now i can get some new cool renthal bars..

 

Now did you black out because of the pain you thought your bike was going through?? How bad are the bars bent?

 

i blacked out because i hit my head on the ground ...my neck snapped back when it flipped back over...the bars are not that bad but they did bend down on the right side...so i will have to get new ones...

 

Hey, sorry to hear that. You must be sick! Well hey. Just so you know, the stock bars on the yfz450 look to be the same as the raptor. My bro works at yamaha and took some measurements, he said they where the same bar. Yamaha had just came out with that bar, and it is found on the new banshee too. I wanted to know, cause I have a raptor bend, renthal at home, that I guess I'll be putting on my yfz450 now.
Its up to you. Did you get use to the bars being a bit low, or do you not like the stock setup? Cause if you where fine with the stock setup, you can just get the raptor bars from yamaha, or go with some other company's raptor bend, like renthal. Up to you.
