That is nice but show bike? WOW big deal. To me there is no reason in having a quad if you cant or wont ride it, life is to short to put it in storage and sell it 16 years later, man, what a waste i hope whoever buys it will ride it and take care if it and enjoy it like it should have been!!

This is the same thing that happens all the time in the car world. It is the same reason someone will pay $50,000 to $100,000 for a mint condition late '60s Yenko 427 Camaro or Shelby GT500 Mustang, when for the same money they could buy a brand new Corvette Z06 or Viper. The collector or nostalgia buff will buy the old classic and let it set and admire its beauty, while the true enthusiast will buy the newer, better handling, faster car and drive the snot out of it.
Of course the RICH enthusiast or collector will buy both and save the old one and beat on the new one.
It all comes down to money, priorities, and interests.

i think if that guy has gone through that much trouble to keep that quad such nice shape, not ever riding it, it should be kept that way, because you can say something like i have one of the only stock mint 250rs in the world, but not just to have a rare mint quad but to keep it that way, that has to take ALOT of will power to not ride it, i couldnt last, that is a sweet 250r.
