I know this is an atv forum but this isnt the first time someone has got off of the topic. The question I am wondering is how fast my Dodge Intrepid will go? I am putting this in the Yamaha thread because it gets the most traffic and us Yamaha guys always go faster than everyone else, hahaha....j/p. I figure most of you guys are crazy like I am so you might know, and I dont know if it has a governer or not and if anyone has any info i am curious. It's a 1997 model with the 3.3 liter V-6 and of coarse 4-speed automatic. The fastest Ive had it was 107mph and it wasnt running hard at all. Any Ideas???

 

Next time keep it pegged. It will probably kick out at 110-115 cause of the gov. My Lumina Z34 kicks out at 115 not even close to the 7k redline...........[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img]

 

alright...only thing I have to worry about is the cops because I have the open straight. Does any one on here have an Intrepid. If it would stay in 3rd gear longer it would be better but it shifts to early and the rpms drop down to far. If Im not mistaken after its in 4th gear going over 84mph it ignores any downshifts. Ill check on it though. Thanks

yea, my buddy has one, it is only a 1994 tho. i can't tell what it is in miles per hour cuz i am in Canada, but his gov. kicks in at 190kph. and it seems that when it kicks in, he is slammin on the breaks, so i am guessing it still has plenty left

 

cool, i would guess its around 116-117 but thats just a guess. I think it governs out at like 5300rpm or something like that
