Default 01 Raptor Transmission Problems ?????

A friend just bought an 01 Raptor, and he got a price that was way to good!!! Is it likely that he got one of the bad transmissions that someone was in a hurry to get rid of??? What are the symptoms of a bad trans???? I heard if you never use reverse, it will be OK???????

Default 01 Raptor Transmission Problems ?????

there was no warning any of the 3 times mine went! always fully clutch before gettin on the gas when shifting in 2nd gear!

every time mine went I was in soft sand under load, not done fully shifting before I releasted the clutch!

if it does go you can get all the parts you need for under 300$
(yamaha genuine discount)

I'd reccommend converting to a 02 tranny. See www.raptortranny.com for all of the details. Parts are around $600 and if ya do the work yourself you'll save roughly another $600.
