I was informed by one of the DW test pilots for the YFZ that besides the airbox and exhaust mod is to tweek the cam timing and it will release most of the YFZ's true power come to life. How to do this I have no clue , he did tell me about most of it but it was all greek to me ...

it is the same as modifying a WR's timing to be the same as a YZ.
loosten the cam chain tensioner and rotate one of the sprockets (right or rear sprocket) counter clockwise I believe by one tooth. I helped a buddy do this on a bike a while ago and followed the directions in a Dirt Rider magazine article. Realy woke up the bike.

First off it is the exhaust cam and you rotate the sprocket clockwise not counter clockwise. This retards the timing and makes it like the yz. By retarding the timing the valves open a little later increasing midrange and topend. It is simple to do and it is easier to move the sprocket if you take off both cam tops. In the article by gt thunder they called it the intake cam but they screwed up and if you look at their picture it shows the exhaust cam turned 1 tooth clockwise.
