Anyone run 22' Dirt Devils recently?

I plan on using them on a 660R Raptor...I was wondering how good they perform on hill climbing and trail riding.

I have them on my wifes utility quad and they are great but are very heavy, I feel for a Raptor they might be better choices that would not rob as much horsepower.

I had 22" dirt devils on my raptor. They are great for mud, water, trails and look awesome. They also throw one he!! of a roost. I just didnt like the extra height and having to screw around with gearing. If you don't mind that they will be a great tire for you,

well i've got a 12 tooth sprocket to gear my raptor down. i've never heard anyone complain about them until I saw that they were a heavy tire.

i'm going to look around alittle more, and then i'll post them on here for you guys to give me comments on.

Dont get me worng they are great and where my first choice when replacing the tires on the quadrunner but it's a mud machine but now the Raptor with it's thin front tires will just sink in, but for hill climbing and trail riding the Raptor shines and I would look at the RarzII or in the price range of the Dirt Devels the original Rarz are good and as a matter of fact are what I just ordered after riding this weekend with a friend that just got a pair.

I have full treaded Razr 2's all the way around right now.

I was looking for differnt tires to save the Razr 2's from the pavement we have been hitting on our way to and from the trails.

I called around a found 22 Mud Lites for $53 each. Is that a good deal to you guys or what?

Hey,

i'm glad to see this thread because i'm considering both the dirt devils and the sur-tracs for my warrior. and i've read good things about both, so now i don't know which ones to get, lol.

Treadepot.com has the 22x11x9 Dirt Devils for $33 each. and it has the 22" Sur-tracs for $39. that website is also nice because it gives you the specs on each tire, like actual height/width and weight. and will also give you a shipping quote before you give them your credit card info.

the 22" dirt devils weigh 20 lbs each, tread is 20/32", and actually measure 22.5"x10.8". and the sur-tracs weigh 18.6 lbs each, tread is 22/32", and measure 21.6"x10.6".

so the sur-tracs have deeper tread, weigh less, and are shorter, but cost more. personally i'm in need of some extra ground clearance, so the taller dirt devils don't bother me too much.

too me, the sur-tracs appear to have a flatter tread than the dirt devils. not sure how that effects trail performance though. any thoughts?

let me know what you finally decide on.

happy trails,
bigmac

i've seen some Sur Trac's tear up some hill climbs on both a 300ex and a 02' Banshee. So I'm impressed with them. But the Dirt Devils wear really good from what I can tell about them. A friend of mine runs them on pavement a lot and they wear forever. I'm all mixed up on what kind of tires to get.

So far the best deal I can get without ordering from the net is $53 for each Mud Lite.

$59 for each Dirt Devil.

I haven't priced many tires, because I been trying to figure on what I want. So many decisions.
