suspension settings?
has anyone ever heard of set the "sag" on a atv. I've had dirt bikers tell me to set the "sag". From what they told me was to measure from the top of the rear tire to the to the bottom of the fender. then sit on it and do the same measurement and adjust it to where when your sitting it "sags" 4 inches. has anyone done this or ever heard of it?

YEs sag is basically how much the suspension compresses when you sit down on it..More sag means a lower ride height without sacraficing the amount of suspension travel and When you hit a bump whoops or a hole the suspension drops down into it keeps the machine more level.....You can adjust sag by preload, less preload equals more sag..You cant get much sag adjustment on most stock shocks but i run mine with the least preload i can...
