Silencer Packing

Default Silencer Packing

I have a 1999 blaster with an fmf pipe, aktive reeds, works shocks, kn filter, wiseco light weight piston, slitfire plug, and holeshot tires. i removed the silencer packing from the silencer will this hurt my quad in any way

Contrary to what many may tell you it does hamper performance. You need a certain amount of back pressure for the bike to run at its best.

shlekter...when you ride as fast as you do its hard to notice those piddley differences[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
packing your exhaust is a good way to maintain performance...oh yah and you can actually hear if there is anotherr noise that deserves your attention

well my friend has been riding his blaster 4 6 months now with NO exaust ...it loud and its sounds......stupid

I don't know if this has anything to do with it but according to GPS, I was running 84.4 top speed before and 85.5 after I repacked my silencer. Most of the time when you bike makes a bunch of noise it feels faster, but it's not.

the book says the packing acts as an inner diameter to your stinger.. change that diameter and you change the performance of the pipe. I'll bet you'll feel more low end with the silencer packed. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/img]
