My 04 grizz has all the mods for heat protection from factory and have had no problems in 34 C weather. With the exhaust mods and 27" ITP Mudlites it kicks on my buddies prairie, in the mud or up the face of the rocky mountains.

Personnally I would go with the 700 Prairie. It's faster, sportier, and in my opinion more reliable. I had a 650 Prairie and BEAT the #^%@ out of it (I'm going to write a book on restoring a 650 Prairie!) and never had a lick of trouble. The belt does screech when pulling out, but I never had to ride in low range or anything like that. My best friend has a '03 Grizzly and has had a few problems. The first night he got it, it vapor locked. From a dead stop or float the clutch upshifts to fast, then downshifts right away and takes off. In the meantime, I'm gone on the Prairie. Then just last week he broke the rear CV joint. He didn't even know he did it until the next day! Just my .02.

I have a 03 Grizz, and I pulled logs that I had a hard time rolling over to put a chain on. I did this all day, and it was hot! Never had a problem! Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones?

i have the 04 grizzly, and haven't had all the problem's other people were talking about. I have seen a few of them sputter in water, not really deep water either. The little fix for crossing creeks or playing in the water is just put it in low range. I ride every sunday with about 4 Grizzly's and 8 Rincon's, and they all put it in low range to cross water, and they never sputtered since. Someone else try it and reply back if it helps.
