they are a fun quad, so far i have no complaints about its muddin capabilities but then again i have oversized stock tires, mud protection is not very good.

The Wolverine has about the same amount of mud protection that the Warrior has, which isn't much at all. If you splash through a small puddle on a Warrior you'll get about as dirty as you would if you went muddin on a 4x4 all day.

Mud protection on my Wolvy is minimal... I am always the dirtiest when it is said and done. Oh well ...

I put 25" Titan 489XT's on my Wolvy. They are fairly light and I have no trouble spinning them, and the extra 2" helps me keep up with the independant rear suspension guys that I ride with that have some ungodly ground clearance.

And yes, you can wheelie a Wolvy pretty easy. Give it some RPM as you hold your shifter up and then let 'er go... yikes! Not too much or you'll be on your backside!

I recommend the Wolvy to anyone. It's a great bike and a lot of fun. And don't forget to get a Warn 424 kit for added sport feel. I am hoping to have mine installed soon!

You will like the 424 from Warn. I've been on here preaching about it since I installed mine. Your Wolverine will feel like a whole different quad. When you take turns, make sure you lean ALOT more than you did before. I almost rolled mine the first time I rode it after putting on the 424. For some reason it feels more top heavy in 2WD. Riding the Wolverine in 2WD adds a new level to the fun you can have. I find myself wondering why Yamaha never made the Wolverine capable of going in and out of 4WD. Oh well, their loss, Warn's gain.

Thanks the for the advice, I'd rather not roll once to figure it out!

I go back to school in 3 weeks so it is most likely that I will hold off on the 424 until after I come home for next spring, just because I can't reason spending the 250 bucks now when I can't enjoy it until then anyway, and when I need the money for stinkin college junkola. Books, food, etc etc etc .. makes me a poor college kid to the max. I'll hope to have one sometime though, I await the sportiness of my Wolvy to really come alive!

You will do fine with a Wolverine. I ride with three other Yamaha's - Big Bear, Raptor, Blaster - And I live in a wet, cold, mud and snow environment. The Raptor and Blaster are always muddy and wet. The Wolverine does very well. Yes the Big Bear does a bit better, but the Wolverine being much lighter you may be able to float across easier without digging in. With the stock tires and with the Wolverine Clearance you will do better then you think. It is a great machine.
