Default wolverine 4x4 in the mud

How does the wolverine do in the mud?
I have heard that the finders do not do a good job keeping you clean, is this true?
The other atvs i am looking at is the bruin4x4, big bear4x4, Kodiak 4x4 and the Eiger 5speed 4x4.
Thanks

You heard right.............I owned a 01 Wolverine and it did not have good mud protection, but is was a good machine! Very good all around Quad................with a unlocker it would be even better. They are avaliable now from Warn. I have a 2wd drive Rancher now and I really like it

The wolvs mud protection is minimal as are most sport type quads. It doesnt have floorboards.

I was always the first one to get dirty, and the dirtiest. Mud protection sux0rz

First gear isn't low enough to be a good mudder, and the 23" tires are too low, always got high centered

I got a 98 wolv and ive took that thing through a lot of mud with the stocktires. When my uncle had it he put on some mudgards for like 30 bucks or something and they helped alot

You can buy fender extenders from Yamaha fairly cheaply and they give very good protection. We ran them on both Wolvs. I don't agree about first gear being too high. We run blackland mud around here and if you cant keep some speed, you won't make it through. Upper end of first is about perfect for maintaining some momentum in the mud around here.

Its an all around fun bike. If you want a strictly mud bike, i would go with the more utlility oriented though. I would recommend it though, you will have more fun on it.

Cool, can you run them without the manual clutch?
