Default FCRs on the way

Welp, the title pretty much covers it. I just ordered my new FCR carbs they get shipped tomorrow and should be here in 3 days. Scary as hell to think I just spent more on a set of carbs then I did on my swing arm. Oh well, it's only money. Hey anyone have any jetting advice?

Congrats on the carbs! Where did you order them from, and did you get the intake manifold adapter? If not, UBETRUN has them and the Yosh and sould be able to help you.

Thanks Wallstreet, I'm pretty excited. I got them from Sparks and I didn't get the intake manifold adaptor. Unless by that you mean the pro flow for the airbox. When I talked to the guy at sparks he said the stock intake boots work fine so I figured I'd leave them be and just use the Pro Design K&N with no lid. I'm also kinda wondering if I should go with a hotter plug when I get the carbs on??? I've had bikes my whole life but this is the first one I decided to build so now it's the learning/trial & error stage.

You might need to make some mods to get them to fit. There are 2 places that are very tight, the top and bottom of the accelerator pump on the right FCR carb. For the top, install a couple of washers on the right side of the crossover bar under the gas tank. For the bottom, borrow or buy a big c-clamp and squeeze the Yoshi mid-pipe where it joins the head pipe. I have a bunch of install pics at http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4289764209. You don't need to put much of a squeeze on the mid-pipe, only about 1/4" or so. Be advised, I have not tried to remove the mid-pipe after tweaking it with a c-clamp, it may end up being a real SOB to get off again. The Sparks X-6 pipe is supposed to fit without modifications if you want to change exhaust. Also, be prepared to muscle the FCRs into the carb boots, they are a very tight fit. Since you will have them off anyhow, run by the auto parts store and get some real hose clamps for the airbox and carb boots. The Sparks tech was helpful with jetting recommendations, call them first if you need some help dialing them in. Good luck and congrats!

Thanks for the help Ubetrun. I had already looked at your install pics when I first thought about getting the carbs. I've got all kinds of fab/modification equipment at home so I'm pretty sure I can make them fit the jetting thing is what I'm worried about. Still not real confident in my ability to figure out which fuel circuit needs to be tweaked which way but I'm learning.
