THe yfz is a race bike. anf the rap will do alot very well. A z400 or 400ex has great power for a new guy. U want a under powerd quad that does to handle well to start on. If you get the best to start with you will never become a good rider. I rode a honda 185 atc with no shocks for year and i learnd to carrie my speed and pick the right lines along with being smoth. good luck but start with a 400 and they cant be built up easly down the road

I would say just go with a 400ex . For a Newb it is probly he best quad because it handles so great and has enough power as well. Also u will be impressed with the mods that u can do to it. Go with a 400ex

Most quads will be fine on snopw ropads. But once u get the 2 wheel drives in like 2 feet and over ur done. so u cant win there.

Unless your going to race MX or something similar, I don't think you will be happy with the YFZ. If you're not all that familiar with quads you would be setting yourself up for some painfull learning experiences. Take it from someone who knows. There is a lot to say for reverse too and the YFZ doesn't have it. Get a used Raptor or a 400Z. After you ride for a while you will know which way you want to go.

There is nothing that a raptor can do that the YFZ wont do better. I eat up raptors.
