what will destroy my starter? mine has made a weird loud noise before trying to start it, but only a couple times, and yes i bought it new, and my clutch was slipping b4 cuz it had no free play i fixed that...

 

I bet your choke spring is shot. Very common problem, alot of people dont know its bad for a while until it wont run at all when warm. This will give you an eradic idle, and when warm it will want to stall. Use a 12mm wrench to screw the plastic nut out of the carb and pull the choke plunger out.

 

my Z had the same kind of problem when I bought it. I barely bumped the idle up and the problem is gone.

 

I don't know all the specifics, but when you turn the idle down it will stall. When it does, it kicks back pretty hard and grabs the starter somehow. I know this because the guy I bought my Raptor did just that and paid bigtime. The shop readjusted the idle.
