My worst crash was in my own back yard of all places. I have a weak little trail around my property mostly give my little nephew rides on it. no jumps bumps humps or any thing just a few trees. so there i was being a jackass show off on my weak 300 yd track. Oh yeah I had just gotten my fatty pipe then too. what i should have bougt to go with the pipe was new tires the stocks were bout bald from all the riding I do on asphalt. so any way when I crashed I had come around this one turn a bit too fast and my front tires didnt bite when i turned the handle bar so it didnt even change direction. Wam I hit the tree square on the left tire riping my weak single a-arm from the frame and sending me over the handle bars into a bush luckily, seeing as in I wasnt wearing my helmet ( yes i know no brain bucket no brain). what actually hurt the most was after I saw what I had done to my baby the adrenaline told me to beat the tree with a baseball bat. not a very good idea not much an aluminum bat is going to do to an old oak tree, plus the vibrations really hurt. so after all that I was tired, left with sore hands, and fealin really embarrased . But nothing $70, a used a-arm, and a good welder couldnt fix.

My worst crash was at Pismo in '87 when I was renting a 250R. I was hauling A$$ when I went up over a dune I thought I knew, well the next thing I know, as I'm flying thru the air, I look down to see the ground dropping away, and oh mygod, thier are people on quads on another trail, and I'm flying over them.....Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
So, I did what I thought I had to do, I bailed out. I jumped off that quad kicking it out of my flight path.......and I crashed and burned away from the quad. I thought I was dead. ......... I layed there for a few minutes thinking something should be broke......But no real damage, just pain.......After about ten minutes I got up, dusted the sand off me, and checked out the rental thinking, well, there goes my deposit.....but to my amazement, no damage on the quad......
Second worst crash, jumped a dune at Pismo, flew about 15 ft straight up, and then straight down landed on all four wheels on level ground, but with no forward movement, ouch that really hurt too.

My worst crash was on a friends property... I was on a piped/filtered/jetted warrior and he was on a stock warrior... so we were gonna test the difference in a drag. I won the race but didn't know he had a small drainage ditch that ran accross his property well I was going so fast when I saw it, I didn't have time to stop or turn... I decided to stand up and lean back and try to give it the ole "dukes of hazard". My front tires skimmed over to the other side but the back hit the lip of the edge... that caused the warrior to buck the back end up so hard and fast that in a blink of an eye I was in the air, then rolling/sliding on the ground... then being ran over by the warrior. It came to a stop sitting on top of me. My friend ran up and lifted it up but I could barely move to get out from underneath it. That wreck really scared me because of how fast it all happened. If I would have broke my neck I'd have never even known. Anyway my back was one big road rash... I had scrapes and bruises all over... broken ribs, whiplash and a concussion (I wasn't wearing a helmet... I ALWAYS do now). It took me over a month to fully recover and to this day my right knee is still a bit messed up from it and my back gets messed up real easy now.

Here's one for you.
A few years back, a friend of mine was riding his motorcyclle across the San Fransisco bay bridge, when he dropped his wallet and like a dummy he stopped in traffic. the guy behind him smashed into his rear end at freeway speed.........very ugly.
He was almost crippled, spent smonths in hospital and came away with somevery serious injuries, that i'm sure follow him to this day....

This spring a friend's son was riding with us in Nevada and the HOnda 4x4 quad flipped over on him and damaged punctured his liver (did not find this out till after hospital visit). The bad part was his partner, also on a Honda 4x4 had first left him and then after he saw the kid waving, waved back, and went off in another direction......
A few hours later, we were sitting around camp thinking about where this guy could have gotton off too. 15 riders went out looking for this kid, (21 years old) and while they were out looking he came walking into camp.......in a daze...... and he didn't know where he left the quad.......it took a nother couple of hours to find the quad.
a day later we all figured he was pretty bad off, and still lathargic and dazed, and took him to Fallon Naval Air station hospital where the kid was station.......punctured liver....ick...

If you wanna talk about motorcycles this one takes the cake! a couple of months ago here in austin this guy was driving his bike on some overpass hiway junction on ramp thing that goes pretty high up and over other highways what ever you call em. well he was i guess at the top of one and a gust of wind caused him to loose control and he fell off the side whitch was directly over one of thoes big green metal road signs. the sign actually cut him in half obviously killing him.

When I was 15, I decided to run from a local deputy when he motioned me over. I was riding on a secondary road on a Suzuki 400 dirtbike and knew it was faster than the cop's caprice. I took off like a maniac down a long hill while looking over my shoulder to see if the cop was catching up. At the bottom of the hill was 90 degree RH turn with a wide, shallow creek on the outside. I was going waaay to fast and tried to pull off a footpeg drag but the big knobbies didn't stick very well and I went sliding off the road into the creek. The bike ended up on top of me and upside down in about 8" of water. On the opposite side of the creek was someone's back yard and they were having a BBQ with about 30 people attending. I had some road rash on my arm but didn't feel any real pain while the cop was writing a handful of citations. Later that evening, I started to have trouble breathing, it felt like someone was standing on my chest. My mom took me to the ER and they x-rayed my chest. I evidently hit the ground hard enough to separate my ribs from my sternum on the right side, there was a gap in the x-raythat should have been filled with cartilege. The hospital wrapped my chest in about 600 yards of tape and sent me home to heal. 23 years later, I still have a little lump on the right side of my sternum that goes up to my collarbone. My parents made me sell the motorcycle to pay the fines. If I had only turned off the road and into the field......
