Dyno Jet's recommendations are based on the lid being in place....this is why you need too go up on the main and leaner on the needles 1 notch. Leaner on the needles you say? The lid off creates turbulence at lower RPM's in exchange for more potential flow at higher RPM's. This is my experience concerning this subject.

 

my dj sheet had the option for no lid

 

what does yours say with no lid i have built it all up and taken it out up the street and it seems to be ok (dosnt cut out or anythink ) and has no flat spots do you think i should try it on the feild before stripping the carbs again what do you recon boys

my sheet says needle on 3rd clip......three turns out......144/146 mains?
they could very easily be wrong

that is with slip on pipe, not lid, and k&n filter

 

that is what i put it to but 4th clip down instead of3rd do you think it would be proven to do the 3rd clip down any suggies boys
