Default Av Gas in raptor

Hey my sister runs AV gas in her 250R and it runs way stronger on that than premium but I was wondering how my raptor would run on AV gas. Its 100LL fuel. Any suggestions ?

Most say it's not a good idea but I don't remember why. I had a HC piston in a XR 500 and it ran great on it but not on premium.

aright thanks sixsixT. Big scary I was hopin you would reply, I noticed you were curious about AV gas too. Does your raptor run stronger on AV gas than premium? I think I might just try a tank and see what happens. If it frys the motor .... good time for a craycraft 686 kit lol

I have heard it doesn't work well because it is designed for airplane motors that run with little fluctuation in RPM's, but if BigScary is running it and has had no problems then why not run a tank? I don't see why it would cause any serious damage to your motor.

BigScary- How much is it a gallon?

Thanks

do you have a high compression piston? if not i wouldn't think you would need it, run the pump it works good and is cheap

No I dont have a high comp piston yet but Im getting one in a bit. I was just curious how a 4stroke would run on it. Wallstreet - is about 2.50 a gallon.

I'd just buy 100 octane race gas. AVGAS has a lot of additives and much more lead then your motor needs.

i would just run 93 octane pump gas until you get the high comp piston then i would just use 100-105 octane race gas once you get the piston. because the aviation gas just has way to many additives.
