What's the deal with Rotax engines?

Wizard---- Very interesting artical thanks for sharing it. I've been doing some research on Quads for some time now and that was my conclusion that Bombardier is inovative and coming out with very good Machines. And not just engines, the frames, bearings, gears etc. Seem to be designed strtonger than competitors. I think it is the up and coming Co. If I had some extra $$$$ I'd buy a couple of them. definitly a brand name and is nothing to far removed from any 4 stroke engine,
i think the reason people get confused is because most other bikes or what ever will have an in house designed engine, so there not much point in saying the new yamaha blah blah with a yamaha engine they generaly keep it to its a 2 or 4 stroke
rotax are world renowned for there engines and most companies will be more than happy to say there using a rotax, infact there probably contractualy obliged to do so,
just gets a litle confusing cos you start to think there telling you theres something majoulry different about them when theres not
