I need to repaint my exhasut header what kind of paint should i use?

Yeah go to the auto parts store and see what they have in high temp paint. 1500 degree would be best but may be hard to find 1000 or 1200 might be OK.

use a flat black high temp enamel
aka engine paint!

They make a black paint for gas grills. That is what i used when i repainted mine it worked good.

Ceramic coating would be my first choice. Airraptor is correct, the more heat you can keep in your pipes, you have more potential for making power.

If paint is your option, VHT makes high temp flat black paint. It will be soft until you bake it on in an oven or put it on your bike and run it a bit. Worked great on my LT250 pipe and was cheap. Make sure and handle the part carefully until the paint is cured (baked) though.

Along with what Air and Black stated, the ceramic coating will also reduce your "up front" temps. Check out www.jet-hot.com. Great people and service.

I did the headers on my Mach I with VHT 1500 degree paint. After I painted them I cured the paint with a propane torch. They still look great after 7 years of drag strip duty.
