Don't get a raptor for mx...may be the worst choice
its not that terrible for mx...afterall its purpose was all around and mostly trailing, first off i think if u buy a raptor ur gonna get urself killed cause if ur buddy is 15/16 w/e and thinks his 300ex is fast, well when u buy a raptor ur looking at twice the displacement, twice the hp and twice the torque...this toy is not for kids although i am only 15 and got my raptor when i was late 13, i can control it better then some people can control their quads that have had them for many years, this quad is up to date keeps up with other ones, people will tell u the ds650 is faster, it is true but it is not even close to the raptors all around kind of style, the predator is a very fast quad also with some nice stock suspension....if i were you i would not get a raptor what so ever, no offense but u seem to immature to handle a 660

I think it would be best if you talked your friend into letting you ride the ex and go from there and ESPECIALLY ride the raptor before you buy one, you may not know what your getting yourself into.

but if you all want you can instant message me at XXxTheOne2811xXx (copy and paste that s/n b/c thats exactly how it looks) and we can talk more about quads or what ever

whats up with the rev limiter, is like a speed limiter is that what you mean? is that already adjusted for newbies, or does it have to be adjusted, (honestly i don't want it adjusted to newbie speed) but how long does it take to break in the motor like 15 hours or 5 hours or something,,,

yeah i was up north and saw a raptor 660 01 model for sale for about 3 grand and it said (needs 2nd gear) so i thought i didn't want to mess with paying even more than i did to buy the quad to fix it you know, so the 04 models and any thing about 01 have better transmissions?

thanks alot

the rev limiter keeps you from over reving the engine
it is totally different than the speed limiter
the speed limiter is on the back of the thumb throtle......you losten the nut and tighten up the screw to make it have a lower top speed
it should come all the way out already

Yes, its what only allows the engine to rev to 9,000 rpm. Stock its set for reliability and not performance.

No unless you do some serious internal work, leave it like it is. Ask somebody that has a built rap when or if you should change the limit.
