A friend of mine was getting beat by a guy up comp hill at Florence by a bike and a half or so. The guy started talking crap and my buddy got sick of it. Bill, who is 250 lbs or so got off and told me to go smoke the dude. I'm 155lbs and my friends shee is pretty built. After beating the guy 3 times in a row by a couple bike lengths he decided he didn't want to race anymore. 100lbs makes a HUGE difference and I'm glad I'm on the lighter side of the scale.

I wonder if the guys at the factory chuckle while they're figuring out ways to save 9 grams here and half a pound there designing these wheelers when they know we, the owners, are chuggin' beer and eatin' beef at the dunes and plop our big asses on these things.

I feel your pain. I'm in the same boat. I put money into my raptor to go faster. Then I let my kid race it, he is 155 soaking wet and he flies up the hill or down the drag so much faster than me. I guess the weight is the next thing to work on since I'm not going to do anything else to the raptor for now. You are right, buying things to go faster is just so much easier.

Rider weight has to be a huge factor. You figure we hop on our rides and we are adding anywhere from 1/4 to 3/4 of the dry weight of the machine to it. How fast would your car or truck run if you tossed 75% of it's curb weight in the bed and tried to drag race it?

I too am in the big guy [ed. cause I'm a dumb a**] market segment. Hell, almost 300. I would rather die with a BBQ rib in my mouth and root beer (I don't drink alcohol) in my hand than any form of rabbit food.

LOL, Hey you guys, I am 16 and only weigh 120! I can drag race real good, too! LOL, it seems that most people think it is cool to be all buff and stuff (which I have nothing against) but us little guys will always have the advantage on the strip!
