Raptor header studs suck!!!!!
#1
i just got my raptor all done and i had a full day of drag racing at pismo done untill about 3 when the bottom right header stud broke off inside the head so we drove around pismo to see if someone could get it out, no one could without taking the engine out. should i put bolts instead of the studs???? so i can get them out if it brakes again.

If you know someone that welds you can get it out with it still on the bike. Just stand the bike on the grab bar and have them weld a nut on the broken stud. Then just turn the nut with broken stud right off. I have done this a few times for my friends raptor LUCKLY not mine yet!

I just take em off so I can drill and tap em all out to 8mm. 6mm dont cut it with the aftermarket exhausts for some reason I think it has to do with expansion rates of the material used.
I got 8mm studs for a 2000 grizzly. they are the same length but in 8mm. You will have a hard time finding them online. I had to go to a dealer and match em up cause the part numbers are screwed up for some reason.

Yes I know there nothing to weld but with the bike on end and the nut in place you weld in the hole and then work your way out to the nut and while the nut is still hot turn it out with the broken stud.....
