I did a little "OOPS" on my bike last weekend during the long weekend "May Run". It's a major 4 day & night 4 wheel drive blast here. Anyway, after about 14 hours, and 16 beer, I accidently backed off a 50-60' embankment. When the front wheels came up, I fell off, about 15' straight down, and then I continued rolling. When I finally stopped rolling, I realized my bike hadn't passed me, and that it was still coming at me. It was so dark, I couldn't see a thing, and I didn't know how to protect myself from something I couldn't see. I called out for help over my helmet communicator to my buddy, and as I had the voice activated mike keyed up, he could hear me get run over by my own bike. I took a thrashing, but managed to crawl away. My bike ended up landing in a huge hole at the bottom of embankment, and when we finally found it, it was not pretty. My handlebars were down around the gas tank, and there was a chunk torn off my front fender. We were in the woods, and decided to camp for the night. When I woke up the next morning, I could hardly move. I managed to get to a hospital and was told I had a 2nd degree shoulder seperation, and I had messed my knee up pretty good. All in all, my bike wasn't too bad, considering the distance it had traveled end for end. My biggest concern is the plastic. Yamaha wants $400 for a new front fender section, and I can't find any aftermarket dealers that carry wolverine fenders. They seem to have everything BUT Wolverine fenders. I was hoping someone on here could suggest someone who carries them. I also need some handlebars.

HOPEFULLY THIS IS A LESSON LEARNED, "THINK WHEN YOU DRINK." ATV'S ARE TO EXPENSIVE TO GET FU**ED UP BECAUSE OF ALCOHOL. I'M SORRY TO SAY BUT ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT GIVE THE SPORT WE ALL LOVE SO MUCH A BAD NAME. PLEASE USE MORE COMMON SENSE NEXT TIME AND CAMP OUT BEFORE YOU AND YOUR MACHINE GET ALL SMASHED UP.

OK guys.... drop the "hollier than thou" attitude. Don't pretend you never tip back a few when your out on your bikes. There were at least a couple thousand bikes out there last weekend, and at least 95% of them were drinking. I'm not saying it's right, but it's what we do. Chances are, the only one you are going to hurt is yourself when you are out in the woods at 2:00am in the morning. I admit I had more than I should have, but it's not too often I do that, but I'm a big boy. I know the risks and take my chances. It's not like I got drunk and hopped in my car and went for a cruise through a school zone. And for your info... it's not guys like me who give bikers a bad name. It's the idiots who get drunk and go ripping through peoples yards, and down city roads. And the people who ruin it for the other bikers, are the "high & mighty" feeling guys like you who try to tell others what they can or can't do. If you don't wanna help when people ask for it, then keep your mouths shut. I don't need a lesson in morals from any know-it-alls. Maybe you should just keep quiet and wait by your phone for the call from the pope telling you that you just got granted your sainthood.

First of all it is idoits like you who give us people who know how to ride right a bad name! What h**L do you mean the only pearson you`r going to hert is you`r self ! You don`t know if some one eles is out riding i dont care if is 2:00 a.m. if the people who live around me woulden`t call the cops on me i`d ride at 2:00 ! and if you are a "BIG boy" as you claim ! You would have had enough sense not to jump on you`r bike after you had 16 beers and go for a cruise ! For the matter of drinking 16 beers and NOT being drunk you are the biggist lier i`ve ever seen i know people who can drink a bottle of Jack Daniles like it is a bottle of water ! Then 16 beers will get them drunk!
YOU GOT WHAT YOU DESERVED, MORON

i dont know any sites for it but i would like to know to yamaha are high on their prices they wanted like a hundred bucks a stock tire to reput on my wolverine and far as the drinking part everyone drink why they are riding their fourwheelers same as boats and water but i think it was alittle dumb to ride why u were drinkin when u didnt know the trails real good.
and for the other person he could have drunk 16 beers and not get drunk after u have drunk for a while and drink at least a couple everyday u can take 16 down with no problem espiccialy if he is a big boy literaly lol
but if u don drink anything for a while then u can get drunk off of 6 beer lol
and as long as he wasnt herting no one else i dont see that it is giving us a bad name it is the idiots that go tearorizing doing donuts and riding wide open back and forth down the road why people are asleep
thats all i have to say and im not taking anyones side

Well ok, I'll admit it I will have one or two beers sometimes when I'm out for a ride, thats a couple 16 beers is not a couple. You might have been out in the middle of no were and didn't think that you were hurting anyone. But think about it this way, if you had died you would have become an ATV statistic, it's those stats that give all ATV's and their riders bad names. I.E this 16 y/o kid in my home town was in a gravel pit he wasn't hurting anyone but he decided to climb a very steep bank, well to make a long story short he didn't make it and ended up rolling back down the hill except his machine (wolverine coincidentally) went into a roll and ended up breaking his neck he is now dead. He had a helmet on and protective gear but that doesn't help when a machine that heavy rolls on you that many times. That gravel pit was a major trail but as you can expect it is now closed.

I hope you take up skydiving. I'm sure a quick beer before you jump won't hurt you. Maybe you can talk the pilot into having one with you.

Drinking and anything doesn't mix.

Everytime I go out and my friends start drinking I just leave. I want no part of it.

It's good that you didn't get hurt worse than you did.

As for your plastic. I wouldn't worry about it. Take a piece of plastic from like an old truck bed liner and stick it of the missing piece. Maybe it's just me but it will see more damage as you ride it more, and it's not a good idea to waste 400 when the same thing can happen again.

OK, First of all, let me clear one thing up. I DO NOT condone drinking 16 beers and riding. I admit it WAS stupid, obviously, I got hurt and smashed my bike. But I also didn't head out that day with 16 beer strapped all over my bike. It was one of those things. It was a HOT day, there were literally THOUSANDS of bikes and 4x4's in the woods that day and things were getting pretty wild. This 4X4 bash is a once a year thing, and as people kept handing me beer, I kept sweating them out. The way it worked out, I only had a little over a beer/hour, so I didn't feel much of a buzz by the time of my accident, but I admit that the beer most likely did contribute to some extent. But like I said before, those of you who do tip back a few when you're out on your bike, which I'm sure is most of you, can't honestly say that you've never gotten caught up in the fun, and had more than you should have. Believe me, if someone posted on here saying that last night the got wasted at the bar, and didn't even remember driving home, I'd be the first one to jump all over them, but this is quite a bit different.
I still stand by my statement that guys like me aren't what give bikers a bad name. It's the guys who DELIBERATLY get wasted every time they go riding, and the guys who rip up peoples yards, and trespass, and who leave garbage behind in the woods. And for your information, around here, bikers don't have a bad name. We try to respect eachother, and the woods we're in, and people see that. Maybe if bikers have a bad name where you're at, you'd better take a look in the mirror to see what a biker in your area looks like. I just posted on here asking for some help, and a few idiots like MEOS, BLASTERMASTER, AND OLDBEAR53 decide to try to look like heros and tear into the guy who made the mistake of admitting that he made the same mistake that most of the people on here have made.... including themselves probably. For those of you who had the maturity to post here to help, thank you, to the other's..... well... did it work? Do you feel like heros now? Good. Now you can get on with your perfect, mistake free lives.
