My base ring is BLACK
the ground strap is black (just like the base ring) all the way until about 1/10th" from the end of the strap............(the end farest away from the base ring.....closest to the electrode)
and the porcelian is a medium to dark on one side and on the other side it is a light tan to white........
what should I do now?
I just recently went to the 4th clip on the needle.....(from the 3rd) because I was told to by several people........
it seems to me that I am running pretty rich.....but I am no jetting genius........
help me please guyz........
oh!.....btw.......It loads up really easily.......like if I do a quick donut in second gear at a really low speed......it loads up QUICK and gets really splatty sounding.....and I have to pull in the clutch and rev it a little......

Well, as I said in the post some people like Trinity and some don't. The trinity disbelievers might tell you different. According to Trinity your plug is to cold. Your change of color on the strap is near the tip. If the base ring is black then it's telling you, you are rich. Your loading up easily is a sign of that. Have you checked the float levels? Also when you do a plug check for WOT you run it for 10-15 seconds wide open hauling butt, pull in the clucth, turn the key off, come to a safe stop. Get off, pull the plug and give it a look see. You basicaly do it that way for the other checks, half throttle then idle to a 1/4 throttle. It's time consuming, can be a pain, can get you a nice burn from the pipes if your not careful and it's easier to just to pull the plug after things cool off after a ride through the dunes, but you won't get the correct readings your looking for.

The needle position affects 1/4-3-4 throttle position. The main jet affects 3/4-full throttle and the pilot jet & (fuel air screws) affects the idle to 1/4 throttle. So running rich would not seem to be fixed by the needle position here. (in theory) A hotter or colder plug is determined by the numbers on the plug. Stock plug is a DPR8EA-9/NGK a colder plug would be a DPR9EA-9/NGK a hotter plug would be a DPR7EA-9/NGK. If I'm not mistaken. I'm not saying trinity is right in the way they read plugs or wrong. I'm also not telling you to run a hotter plug. Giving advice can be a double edge sword. If it works great, if it hurts your quad then it's not great. FYI, I am running a one step colder plug. A hotter plug may cause detonation. Not a good thing. Good luck.

I am at 165/170 right now.......needle on 4th clip.....
so I should go down to 160/165 or lower.......?
hit has a sputter around 4500.....and it got worse when I went from 3rd notch to 4th notch......
so I don't knwo what to do from here......
sparks said to do 160/165 needle on 4th clip
and I did that and it had the same sputter at 4500.....so I thought it may be a lean surge....so I jetted up and raised the needle......it got worse......
my trial and error reasoning skills would tell me to go back down some on the mains......
160 is the lowest I have......do you think I should get some lower ones?
BTW....I am running DJ jets and needles......

4500 rpms is not a wide open problem so the change in needle position might help your problem. Do it one clip at a time. you're ported, pistoned and camed. I'd stay with the mains you have for now and play with the needle to try and clear up what appears to be a mid range 1/4-3/4 throttle problem. It's also easier to do than the main jets. My bad, you say you went from 3rd to 4th and it got worse so go to 2nd and see what happens.

I know it is a lot easier.....LoL..........when I was at the 3rd position it was sputtering in the mid range....and it got worse on the 4th.....so do you think I should go to the 2nd?.....
everyone tells me that I should be running at lease 4th clip?......I'm confused.....

Yes, go to the 2nd clip. What works on one persons quad may not work on yours. They are all different. Have different flow characteristics etc. Different mods, different port jobs blah blah. The jet kits gives you a starting point, might work for some won't for others. Give the second clip a try.
