Default Trail Tech light wiring

ANybody out there using both the trail tech lights and the stock ones?

I want to run both, but not at the same time ,...

How about it? anybody got some good ideas??

I was thinking about running the stock hi beams on the low beam switch and the trailtechs on the hi beam switch...

Thats how I would do it if I wanted both. But I would use the low beam switch for the Trail techs if you wanted to keep the stock high beams . That way you would only cut one stock wire.

I run the trail tech 50W without the stockers and they are enough light for me. I wouldn't spend the extra $$ on the stator unless you planned on running both at the same time.

I run both the Trail Tech and my stock lighting. With the switch in the high beam position, it runs my stock lights in high beam and turns my trail techs on. The low position is just the regular lights. I'm doing this on the stock stator. If you do a search for trail tech lights, I'm pretty sure you will find quite a few if the posts are still around. I do believe THEMOOSE has the same set-up also. I'm in Korea right now so I can't run out to the quad and tell you which wires are attached where. Good luck.

I read somewhere that most stock stators can run up to 100 to 110w. The stock lights are 35w each I think and my Trail techs are 50w each. BTW, they came with instructions that tells you which wire is which for high/low beam. If you get them and have trouble PM me and I'll check mine to see what wire is for high/low.

Yeah thanks to all.

The wiring is not an issue. I'm just looking for ideas.

One thing I thought about is an additional switch just powering the trailtechs seperateley, but then there the issue of what kind of switch and where to mount it.......

Sorry, I guess you guys get to hear what few brain cells I still have, rattling around my head.

I think it would look pretty cool to have a rocker switch with LEDs in it. Maybe mounted in the front plastic, left/right side, just forward of the fuel tank???

I just put 50w torches in the stock position.

I think i just want to use the plugs off the stock lights (wired to the low beams,,,leaving the highs if I want to add to the handlebars later)(neat and clean look). Has anyone done this,,,,I havent even looked at the wiring yet,,,just bolted them on.

Is there a good place to buy electrical parts for trail techs? I cracked the housing the bulb plugs into.
