DONT GET THE TRINITY KIT!!!!!!! get the Vitos. its $200somethin and is a very good very reliable kit IF ITS BROKEN IN GOOD!!! i would also get a pipe and filter for it when i do it for the best noticeable power gain.

Thanks, but id kinda like to know why the trinity kit is bad, and also, i was looking more into the 240 kit for 600 from vito, the brand new cylinder head and piston, as opposed to boring my stock head to a 240, because of reliability. but i dont know is theres any real reason to do that. i dont know if a boring my stocker to 240 is a big enough difference to worry about. also, i read from Vitos that their kit will give me a total of 32 hp. if anybody knows the REAL stock hp of a blaster id like to know, ive seen everything from 11.5 to 20 something said to be stock. and is there any power difference gained from a new cylinder head and piston rather than a bored out stock one? thankx again

P.S. does anyone have anything to say about White Knuckle Racing's 240 kit?

Vito's is better for blaster, reliabilty really. but there really aren't a whole lot of reliablility issues. just go vito's
boring your stocker out to a 240 will give you screaming top end, it's well worth it. anything bigger is worth it
the stock blaster pumps out 20hp max. and i don't know nothing about the white nuckles. just go for the cheapesst full 240 kit from vito's, you wont regret it

You need to understand what a 240 kit consists of. To achieve this CC in a Blaster you re-sleeve the cylinder. You cannot bore out a stock cylinder to this size. You don't "bore out" the head. If you buy a cylinder done from Vito's, you're ready to go. If you buy the kit, you get a sleeve and need to have a machine shop install it into your cylinder.

so are you suggesting that i buy the full kit, cylinder piston and rings for $600 or buy the sleeve kit and have it installed? is there going to be a difference in performance between the two or is it just the price?

Okay, somebody please help me here! ive been looking at all kinds of different kits, CT, Trenga, White Knuckle, Vito's, etc, and i just cant figure out what is the best deal. i dont want to spend much more than $600 on the 240 kit itself. i could get it resleeved for only about 250-300, which would give me a lot more to spend on other mods. depending on how things go for me fincancially i would be looking to spend about 800- 1100 on mods. i want to get a bigger carb, a pipe (toomeys probably), a pyramid reed kit, and an IMS 4 gallon fuel tank. im trying to find the best "bang for my buck" in a 240 kit and i was hoping that the kit would raise me from stock to about 35 hp. then let the other mods take it even further. CT racing is looking pretty good to me right now, their $595 240 kit. but i dont know whether it would give me the kind of power im looking for. also, im guessing that since most people are saying that a 240 re-sleeve wouldnt be as hard on my stock engine as id thought, that maybe the Vitos kit, since it has an entirely new cylinder head, is only for pure racing, or would be used for the sole purpose of replacing the stock head to allow better engine modifications. because i would have no problem going with a kit where i just resleeve my stock cylinder, as long as im not risking anything. i basically want this to be a good dune bike that can beat 400exs and 250rs or at least keep up with them. im not going to race, so i dont need to go all out. so, anything u have to say about any mods i mentioned would be appreciated, thanx

Your best bet IMO is to send your cylinder and head to one of these places to have the sleeve installed and head mods done. If you buy a kit for $250 or whatever you still spend $150+ to have the sleeve installed, and your head is still stock. Send your stuff in, they can mod the head to get the compression you want, and know what they are doing with it. Get a decent pipe, and a bigger carb. You will also need a larger intake manifold to hold a larger carb if you go to a 33 or 34 MM unit.

When you go into a big bore modification, having one shop's set of fingerprints on it is best. If you buy a sleeve here, get it installed there, send the head off somewhere else, you are open to more problems than one experienced shop who can send it back ready to install, all matched and correct.

A 240 kit is a 240 kit. All the same. The head mods and cylinder porting make the difference. By the time you do the 240, carb & manifold, and pipe, your money will be gone.

Johnny,

I have a 265 with a 35 air stryker carb and a Power Pros custom 265 exhuast. It was just built last winter and was dune ridden only. It was dyno'd at MMI and put out 38hp. It is an awesome engine. It obviously keeps up with anything in the dunes. We run a 4" over swingarm on it which is also for sale.

We are building a YZ490 Blaster for fun, so the engine is for sale. $1400 and you can sell all your stock parts on eBAY and recoup alot of the cost. You will be the fastest Blaster guaranteed and faster than most 250R/Tecate/Quadracer's. It is faster than my CT440 in a dragrace [till the heart of 4th gear] and my 440 dyno'd @42hp on the same dyno.

I live in the Phoenix area and could either ship it to you or if you live in the southwest could deliver it.

If you are not interested call Eric at Trenga. He is the Blaster specialist. Vito's is good too but does not specialize in the Blaster like Trenga does.
