Well I have decided that I am going to build a drag 4-Stroke but havent decided what motor to build. Ive narrowed it down to a Raptor, Z400, YFZ 450 or the New CRF 450. Out of those which one would you build into a monster?? Oh and if anyone knows which motor has more potential out of the CRF and YFZ could they please post it...

 

If you're gonna build an all out drag 4 stroke, out of those choices I'd choose the raptor. It's motor has the most potential. As much as I hate to say it, The DS650 would be another good choice.

 

well we don't know a thing about the 450r yet, so i couldn't tell you. but i would go wit RAPTOR ! it's faster than a 450f anyway on top end. 450 would be like a better riding machine or watever but if you wanna drag go raptor, there's more parts out there for it as well

 

Yea, the yfz450 isnt a drag bike.. The raptor is prolly your best bet, I saw some pretty mean raptors this weekend kickin some major ***..

 

cc's and light weight always a good combo, and i would also throw a vote the ds's way it seems the rotax is a little easier to work on and may have a little edge in the easy power, more money for real power out of any fourstrokes.

 

Well the reson i was looking at the 400 class machines is thier weight which is a big advantage in the sand and i have seen the Sparks CRF 450 at Pismo and its relly relly fast!

 

I'd reconsider the DS if I were you as an option over the 400-450 cc bikes esp. in the sand.

 

Thunder- I would go with the raptor and forget about sparks at pismo. Until i see one of those 450's or 465's or 505's or whatever run a race on flat land my choice would be a raptor. Sparks builds bikes to win where they run. I wonder how they would do in flat 300 feet. Sparks claims they are all alike but the ones we see are not impressive. A 686 can break 5 seconds on race gas without nos

 

Well 14 i hear u about a 5 sec rap but this CRF 450 of Sparks was beating Sparks "Chosen" 727 and 690 bikes. Maby next time i go i can get some tape? An these races are on the flats and usualy 300'ft...

 

get a bike engine in a quad.

I would go with raptor or DS for drags.
