How long does a new banshee engine last??
#1
I am plannin on buying a new banshee soon. or a used one if it has the mods to my likings. I was wondering how long a new engine will last if i do the usual matience everytime i ride?? im mostly going to be doing steep long azz hills. i know the hills arent good for it but i cant resist. Ohh and i will most likely just put pipes, reeds, boost bottle etc.etc (the usuals) on it until i need a new top end.

They will last a long time, or a short time. I have seen banshee's with 8-9 years of riding on the stock pistons. When this particular machine was tore down, it still had 125 psi in one cylinder and 120 in the other, it was a friend from my days in Pheonix.
Anyway, if taken care of and run a good premix the machine can and will last long. On the other hand I have also heard of banshee's running for 6 months and taking a dump. I dont know what people do to require a rebuild every year or less, but it seems to happen.
I dont live near you, but I do have a banshee for sale. If interested pm me.

I am going to do all the matinence before i get on it everyday. and probobly run castrol 927 or klotz oil.
If i keep everything maintained do you think it will last a few years, i dont mind if i have to reabuilt the top end but i DO NOT want to work with a seized or blown engine.

Quality premix is key too a 2 stroke engine longevity. Too much port exposes rings for more wear....this could be why some guys have too rebuild more often. Also, a foam filter properly oiled will help an engine last longer.

I think dunes wear them out faster because they spend most of the time around redline. The less you rev the **** out of it the longer it will last. The bad part it is a freak and likes you to hurt it lol. Not to mention, after you feel what its like to pull one up to redline youll want to do it over and over again.

The Banshee engine &tranny is one of the most reliable engines in ATV history, Its been around since the early 70's. Just like every engine out their, If you keep the Airfilters clean, and keep good oil in it, the engine will last you for years.
just remember to run Castrol927 premix,at 32:1 ratio and you be out lasting 4-strokes.

bigger - do you mean CASTOR927 or are they 2 different brands? We run the castor927 in my sisters 250R at 32:1 so should it last a good while? Even if it doesnt it sure smells good
