Default reducing compression

i bought a pretty tweaked out raptor last spring. i think that the guy replaced the cam with an aftermarked one and did not put the cam guts back in that released the compression. i have brought it in to the shop to be looked at and they told me there is so much compression. now i just bought a new battery and i have a 1.5 amp battery charger/maintaner hooked up to it when not running just so it will start. is there anything i can do to reduce the compression so i do not have to have a fully charged battery to get it started? any input would be helpful.

Wait...don't put washers underneath the plug...that is just BAD

The shop is incorrect in saying the cam is causing more compression...it isn't
It may not have the decompresion system any more...however it should still start...
If the valve adjustment is off the system will not work well either

Have you load tested the battery?

Finally the one-way gear will cause problems that seem like they are dead battery...to much compresion etc...

What cam is it?

about the one-way gear. will that make a funny noise when starting up the machine?
i am not sure about the cam though. i have not load tested the battery, i just bought a new one last week. and i just had my valves adjusted the same time as when i bought the battery. thanks

If you have a Raptor your one-way clutch is on its way out...just a matter of time

Mine would spin over about one full revolution before it locked up and acted like it was a dead battery

is there a way i can check it so it to see if that is it? is it the one-way gear, or one-way clutch. or are they the same thing?
sometimes when i start mine it spins and clicks at the same time. and then it will start.

They are the same...and it does sound like you need a new gear

Go to "raptortranny.com" for the full story and instructions on how to fix
If it has started "clicking" then it is almost gone

Make sure the clicking isn't emmiting from the starter relay(next to battery)
