Default raptor carb problem

My 01 raptor was running rich for some reason I adjusted the intake and exhaust vavles that wasnt the problem tonight i took my carb apart and the choke assembly was all gooed up with sand and the choke cable inside the carb was stuck out. So my question is how do I remove the choke cable out of the carb housing and any advice on how to clean and set this carb up right (air/fuel mix screw how many turns, etc.) would be appreciated?

great question! has it been running rich for 2 years? or just all of a sudden you notice? maybe it was something that happened on your last ride. remember anything out of ordinary happening?

when it comes to the technical stuff I'm not the best authority so I wouldnt be able to answer your question very intelligently. But when I had to clean my carbs out from sand holding one of the shutter valves<---? open, [2 grains of sand held one of them open causing it to stall the instant I gave it the slightest bit of throttle] But after almost taking the whole carb apart it just seemed I had to unscrew this, unscrew that and blow and clean. I dont remember any fancy throttle cable housing in the carb. Isnt there just a screw?

i just picked this quad up a week ago and i think the people that owned it adjusted it to run with the choke froze up it cuts out at low throttle but upper rpm's it runs fine. I sprayed alot of wd40 where that cable goes into the housing and it freed it up but there is still a lot of crap down in their.

ok choke cable 12 millimeter to pull it off then if you cant pull it out then you its pretty much gummed up in there so spay some pb blaster or what ever you have to loosen it up a bit then you just have to work it out you are probably going to need a new starter set for your choke cable as far as the air screws iam pretty sure they set them around 4 turns out might want to ck.on that though to be sure ....make sure your ideling is right also thats important..
