i know this isnt the right forum for this, but ive been talkin to you yam guys a lot and i just thought id get your opinion (ill post the same question to the suzuki guys too). okay, well if youve been reading some of the stuff ive been talking about "to shee or not to shee" i was, obviously, asking about a banshee. but now my dads getting weird about it, and i mean its okay, i understand and i know just as well as he does that a banshee is for dunes and little else. so, as you can tell from the name of this post, im now in the market for an LTZ / KFX400. i know it wont give me banshee like power, but ive heard some really good things about em and i like the style and supposedly they have a really good chassis that feels like its ready to race. so aside from trying to talk me back into a shee, say anything you want about this really. ill base my decision later on what i hear from you guys about this bike. thanks for putting up with my constantly changing decisions. lol.

Stock for stock I would take a yfz over a banchee anyday. A yfz would beat a banchee stock.

I am very happy with my Z, it is a great all around quad. With a pipe and air filter you can beat raptors until top end.

I would look into the yfz. I would not be saying this, but I rode one and could not believe the power for a stock quad.

Could wait and see what honda is coming out with sept 10.

I am sorry no one has given you a straight answer yet, let me see if I can shed some light on the subject.

The LTZ/KFX400 is an excellent all around bike. Its ergonomics are very comfortable to most riders and closely resemble those of the Raptor. The z400 is a very stable bike having about three inches more width than the raptor. It employs a fairly hard hitting power plant providing a fair amount more horsepower and torque than a 400ex thanks to its larger compression, dual overhead cams, and liquid cooled engine. Compared to the Raptor or the Shee, you no doubt find the z400 a little lacking in power. However, with little money and the right mods, the z400 can come very close to a stock Raptor. Close, not exact! As far as racing... As I said, the z400 is a good all-around bike and can be used in many situations. Any kind of serious racing would of course require aftermarket modification to make it perform at its full potential. Realize that you will not be keeping up with raptors, predators, shee, bombadiers, etc... but you will not be in the same engine class either. I hope this sheds a little light on the subject. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
