Default Bad Battery Cell

Ooops. Hey I was wondering? Have any of you Raptor owners had any problems starting your quads with a bad cell?
My brother-in-law just got through paying out the a$$ to get his tranny repaired and 02 gears put in and is having a hard time getting it to start. The mechanic at the dealer said he had a bad cell and it is going to be hard to start. It has no problem turning over but just won't start. It sounds more like a carb issue. I got it to start by choking it and holding the throttle all the way to the stop. What do you guys think might be the deal. I just don't want the dealer giving him a load of crap. I don't know he might be right. Any replys will be appreciated. Thanks
